The Governor         

          Dr. Adib Mayaleh is the governor of the Central Bank of Syria

          Born in 1955 in  Daraa - Syria

          his excellancy has the -following Educational Qualifications:

        - Bachelor in Economics from Damascus University in 1981.

        -  Diploma in Money, Banking and Finance from Aix en Provence university,

            France, in 1983.

        -   Diploma in Applied Macroeconomics from Aix en Provence university,

              France, in 1985.

        -  Ph.D. in International Economic Relations from Aix en Provence university    

           France, in  1991.

          Dr. Mayaleh became the Governor of the Central Bank of Syria in 4/1/ 2005.

    In addition to his post as Governor of the Central Bank of Syria, He has the following positions:

-   Chairman  of the Central Bank of Syria.

-   Chairman of Money and Credit Council.

-    Chairman  of Anti-Money Laundering and Combating Terrorism Financing Committee.

-    chairman of the banking training Center.

-    chairman of the general institution of social insurance.

          Prior to that , he was holding the following positions:

-    Executive Director of Joint Master of Bordeaux  IV University and Damascus University.

-    Dean of The National Institute of Public Administration in Syria.

-    Fellow of  Damascus University-Economics faculty.
